CLT's 2½ PAC-endorsed legislative candidates for election

Below is the list of the legislative candidates who have so far been endorsed by CLT's 2½ PAC.

To receive our endorsement, incumbents must have a good CLT rating. New candidates have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and filled out the taxpayer-issue questionnaire.

All of the challengers are running against an incumbent with a low CLT rating or for an open seat. All endorsees so far are Republicans, though we're reaching out to Democrats and independents as well.

A few more challengers will be added if other questionnaires and pledges are returned, analyzed and decisions made as to the viablity of candidate campaigns. In a few cases, we have a good response from candidates running against each other in a primary, so must wait until after the primary election to endorse for that seat.

Endorsed candidates are listed in alphabetic order, Senate first, then House. The name and hometown of the endorsed candidate is listed on the left with a check mark
for easier identification along with the campaign website beneath. If running against an incumbent, that legislator's name appears across on the right along with his or her 2009 CLT taxpayer rating.

If you have any helpful information about the candidates listed below, their opposition, or other candidates not yet on the list, call Chip Faulkner at 508-915-3665 or email PAC@cltg.org.

Thanks,
Chip Faulkner

Note 1: Tuesday, May 11th, was the special election for the State Senate seat formerly held by Scott Brown. CLT's 2½ PAC endorsed State Rep. Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) for the seat. He won the election, with about 62% of the vote. Revolution 2010 is off to an auspicious two-for-two start!

** Note 2:   Republican Richard Bastien, Democrat Amy Knuuttila, and Independent Carolyn Kamuda are all being endorsed for State Representative in the Second Worcester district. This is the first triple endorsement for one legislative seat in the 30-year history of CLT’s 2½ PAC. All three candidates filled out and returned taxpayer-friendly questionnaires and signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in which they pledged to “oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes”; Knuuttila has an opponent in the Democrat primary who has not.

This is the first time candidates from one district and three different party designations have all shown this same strong support for the taxpayers. The taxpayers of Ashburnham, Ashby, Gardner, Royalston and Winchendon can feel comfortable voting for any of the three.
