The "No on 4" TV ad that began running today asks voters to oppose the "Celluci-Swift Tax Plan". "Celluci"? If they can't spell, can we trust their math and statistics, never mind their logic?!

The website designer changed the spelling of Celluci  (original graphic files above and below) but the last time we looked, then were still spelling our state "Massachussets."

P.S. The ads are paid for by money from the Massachusetts Teachers Association.

Rebuttal Facts

The ad talks about better places to invest the rollback, including paying down state debt. However, these options are not on the ballot. If the Legislature had wanted to spend money in these "better places," it would have been putting the state surpluses there over the years. Instead, state spending has almost doubled at more than double the rate of inflation.

The woman in the ad, who says she was going to vote Yes on 4 but changed her mind, should do a little more research into legislative priorities and spending practices ... in Massachusetts.
