Bay State budgets $1M for gay youth support

Massachusetts will spend more on providing support groups for gay and lesbian students than any state in the country under a program strongly backed by acting Gov. Paul Cellucci.

This year's budget quadrupled the amount of money the state spends on gay and lesbian youth, from $250,000 last year to a record $1 million this year.

It's the first time the state budget specifically earmarks funds to gays and lesbians. . . .
