*** Promise Alert! ***
Sunday, November 23, 1997

REMEMBER: Tomorrow (Monday) at 5:00 PM is the drop-dead deadline for delivering petitions for certification to the City of Boston registrar of voters at Boston City Hall.

Sadly, some petitions with signatures are *still* coming in to us, arriving in the mail with absolutely worthless signatures now that the deadline for delivering them to city and town clerks (other than the City of Boston) passed last Wednesday. I don’t know what it takes to get people to read the directions we sent, the reminder postcards we sent later . . . but obviously they didn’t bother and wasted their time and all those signatures. And the cost of postage to mail worthless paper to us.
Please don’t waste *YOUR* time or even *ONE* signature on petitions from any of the following City of Boston "neighborhoods"—either get them to Chip Faulkner between 3:00 - 6:00 PM at our "curbside service" in front of the Boston CLT&G office (directions below), or get them to the City of Boston registrar of voters yourself by 5:00 PM tomorrow.

DO NOT MAIL THEM TO US—there’s not enough time, so we don’t want them! (And I don’t need the frustration of *seeing* even more of them!)

If you have any petitions for the City of Boston and don’t get them to Chip Faulkner today, or to the City of Boston registrar of voters by 5:00 PM tomorrow, save your postage: throw them away!

CLT&G’s "Curbside Service" for City of Boston petition certification

Chip Faulkner (he’s been at the Dedham Mall all weekend collecting critical signatures of City of Boston voters) will be available this (Sunday) afternoon, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at the sidewalk entranceway of our 18 Tremont Street office (look for the Rebecca’s Cafe sign at the Boston City Hall end of Tremont Street; the entranceway is right alongside it and the Federal Express office) to make dropping off your City of Boston petitions for certification as hassle-free as possible -- with "curbside-service"! Chip will bring them over to Boston City Hall for you on tomorrow (Monday) before the 5:00 PM deadline.
-------------------------------------------

Thanks for all your help over the past three months, and keep your fingers crossed that everyone else did their part and have made all this effort worthwhile!

Chip Ford—

PS—Watch this space for tomorrow’s CLT&G preemptive strike news advisory warning to the media. It will remind them of how "Secretary of Darkness" Bill Galvin’s "dirty tricks" sucked them in back in 1995, and how their blind reporting could have cost us the highly-successful CPR petition drive.
