Citizens for Limited Taxation has launched its fall voter information project with two half-page ads; one in the Neponset Valley Daily News outlining Rep. Maryanne Lewis’ record on taxes and voter initiatives, and one in the Metrowest Daily News giving similar information about Rep. Kay Khan (D-Newton), Rep. Karen Spilka (D-Ashland), and Rep. Deborah Blumer (D-Framingham).

Each of those "representatives" voted to defy their constituents and override Governor’s Swift’s veto of the "freeze" of the income tax rollback. The rollback was supported by 59 percent of statewide voters and the majority of voters in their districts in November 2000.

We feel it is imperative that those abandoned constituents should be aware and reminded of their "representative’s" votes to reject the voters’ overwhelming mandates.

In the weeks ahead, CLT intends to inform other citizens across the commonwealth about the anti-taxpayer, anti-voter defiance of their alleged representatives.

Copies of the first two issue ads can be found on the CLT website at www.cltg.org.
