Governor Romney and Lt. Governor Kerry Healey hosted a well-attended "Tax Freedom Day" news conference in the Library Room of the Hampshire House with special guest speaker Barbara Anderson.  Massachusetts is the 6th-lastest state in the nation to reach this benchmark, according to the Washington-based Tax Foundation's annual report.  Also speaking were House Minority Leader Brad Jones (R-North Reading) and Senate Minority Leader Brian Lees (R-East Longmeadow).  As revenues again pour into the state's coffers at a record-breaking pace, all called for an immediate rollback of the 17-year old "temporary" income tax hike to its traditional 5 percent, as overwhelmingly mandated by the voters in 2000.
