The 2007 CLT Annual
Membership Brunch
Sunday, November 11, 2007
Lombardo's of Randolph
On Sunday, November 11, 2007 CLT hosted its annual
CLT brunch and awards ceremony for its membership statewide, 128
attendees. As it was also Veterans Day, a focus of this year's
event was on veterans and our appreciation for their service over the
decades to our country -- even the dessert cake was dedicated to
veterans, festooned with small American flags. In Barbara's
opening welcome, before the Pledge of Allegiance, she asked that they
stand and be recognized -- the large number of veterans in attendance
was not very surprising.

William R. "Woody" Ford of Tewksbury opened the
Veterans Day CLT brunch by giving the invocation. Woody is a
World War II veteran, having served with the Army's 107th Evacuation Hospital
and is the organizer of its association. He survived through the Battle of the Bulge,
and is a member of its association as well. He is the
father of Chip Ford (CLT's director of operations) and has been a longtime
CLT member.
Chip introduced his Dad as "my favorite veteran." |

Jon Keller, WBZ political analyst and commentator,
was CLT's keynote speaker. The recent author of ""The
Bluest State: How Democrats Created the Massachusetts Blueprint for
American Political Disaster," Jon explained to the audience how
Bay State politics is killing the Democrat Party nationwide, then took
questions, before selling out the books he'd brought along to sign.
(The line for his book was almost as long as the chow line!) |
